Our Process

A successful New York landscaping project is a process. From the initial design stages to final completion, depend on the skills, experience, and industry knowledge of your local landscaping contractor. When you project looks like this and you do not know where to turn, call Cleveland Brothers Landscaping Inc and we will walk you through our simple process found below.

  • Initial Project Visit

    We ask questions about how you intend to use your yard or garden and ask you to share your wish list or express any concerns about your property. Preliminary budget ranges are explored and our design/build agreement and fees are explained. Accurate information about your site is needed to start our landscape design work. We ask you to provide a plot of survey, blueprints if needed. Our team will then visit your site to take photographs and measurements. Once all the vital base information has been gathered, we create a base plan.


  • Conceptual Plan

    Using the base plan and the information gathered during the initial visit, our creative team of landscape professionals will prepare a conceptual plan for your landscape. We meet to review your conceptual landscape plan and explain our ideas. We encourage your thoughts and input, as now is the ideal time to make modifications. This step helps insure you will be pleased with your landscape plan. We explore alternatives and look at material choices, plant types, preliminary costs, and phasing options.


  • Landscape Plans

    With the information from the preliminary plan meeting in hand, our creative team proceeds with the work on your landscape plan. This plan is more detailed and specific than the conceptual plan. Material choices are finalized and plant choices are made.


  • Plan Meeting

    At this meeting, we will present your completed landscape plan. We will provide accurate, detailed proposals for installation, discuss the proper phasing of the work, and determine the installation schedule.

  • Construction and Installation

    To place your project on our schedule and order the materials, we ask that you sign and return the proposal with a 40 percent deposit. Our landscaping team will plan ahead to ensure an efficient installation in a timely manner. Your designer will remain active as your project manager, helping to schedule the work, order materials, answer questions, make site visits, and monitor your project.


  • Walk-Through Meeting

    When your installation is completed, we like to meet and walk through your landscape project with you. We provide care and maintenance instructions and answer any landscaping questions and address any concerns you may have.

  • Installation Follow-Up

    Cleveland Brothers will make periodic visits to monitor the initial “growing in” of your landscape project. We note any warranty items that may need to be taken care of and, if necessary, we will make suggestions to insure your landscaping continues to add value to your property.

Our Warranty

An important part of establishing long-term relationships with our customer begins with good communications, so please allow us to explain some special circumstances of doing business in the green industry.

Landscapes

Plants are living and require maintenance and care to a varying degree. Once your landscape is installed you will have the responsibility for caring for your plants. Maintaining your new landscape is not difficult. When your project is completed, we will give you general plant care guidelines and program your irrigation controller. Simply refer to our tips and if you have any questions please call. We also routinely check properties after the landscape is installed and will advise you if we notice any irregularities. Should you start noticing plant decline such as wilting, leaf drop, discoloration, insect infestation, etc, call us immediately. This allows us to quickly determine possible causes of plant stress and recommend solutions.


If you wish to keep your landscape looking its best and do not have time or knowledge to devote to plant care, please consider one of our professional landscape maintenance programs. Our programs are custom designed to meet the needs and preferences of each customer.


Occasionally plants will not survive the process of transplanting. We will gladly replace them at no charge. Plant materials that fail will be replaced as soon as they become available and as quickly as our schedule permits. Within the following schedule, we guarantee to replace, once, any plant installed by Cleveland Brothers landscape Company, Inc that fails to grow. A 90-day warranty is provided for all plants. Reasonable growing conditions must be maintained as provision of the warranty, including automated irrigation, insect and disease control, and shelter from unreasonable damage by pets or pedestrians.

Forever Guarantee

New landscapes (plant materials only) are guaranteed up to forever when maintained continuously by Cleveland Brothers Landscape Company, Inc under one or our professional maintenance programs. The forever guarantee is subject to exclusions as outlined in our standard guarantee.

Irrigation

All components of your irrigation system are warranted for one year. Acts of God, improper use, or vandalism are not covered by this warranty.

Hardscaping

All labor provided by Cleveland Brothers Landscaping, Inc will have a three year warranty and a lifetime warranty on all products purchased and installed by Cleveland Brothers.

Lighting and Water Features

All materials are warranted for one year. This excludes acts of God, improper use or neglect, and vandalism. Call us if you have questions about the care or maintenance of your lighting or pond equipment.

What's Not Included in Our Warranty

  • Vandalism or acts of God including hail, ice storms, early and late season severe freezes, damaging winds, etc.
  • Plants not watered by an automated irrigation system
  • Plants that are damaged or die as a result of insect infestation or disease unless covered under the maintenance contract. (If insect infestation or disease is diagnosed, we can apply controls for a reasonable fee.)
  • Plants that die as a result of improper cultural practices such as over or under watering, improper fertilizing, damage from chemical applications, etc.
  • Plants that are transplanted.
